Microglia are the resident immune cells of the brain. They represent the first line defense against pathogens or threats to the brain homeostasis. We are specifically interested in their function in neurodegenerative diseases.
Using preclinical model systems and human brain tumor tissue, as well as -Omics technologies, we investigate molecular alterations driving malignant brain tumor emergence and progression.
Addressing fundamental questions of pediatric brain tumor development and combining experimental scientific approaches with translational neuro-oncology.
