Welcome to the Institute of Medical Biometry and Epidemiology
We are scientists from the fields of mathematics, (bio-)statistics, epidemiology and related subjects. We are experts in our fields and have broad applied knowledge as well as experience in research and teaching.
Contributing to the promotion of scientific knowledge in medicine is our purpose. To this end, we support and facilitate researchers in planning, conducting and analyzing clinical and observational studies, and are responsible for planning, conducting, and analysis of epidemiological studies.
We are teaching statistics and epidemiology and offer basic and advanced courses on statistical methodology. We offer software courses and statistical consultations for researchers at the UKE. Moreover, we are constantly working to improve (statistical) methods as a result of our own methodological research projects.
