A defined core interest and task of the CHCR & PH is the promotion of young scientists within the UKE. Young scientists do their PhDs in the framework of the non-medical PhD programme at the UKE in the various member institutions. Interdisciplinary and inter-institutional topics related to public health as well as health services research are dealt with.

The CHCR & PH also includes the y-CHCR & PH . This is a self-organised network that offers a platform for young scientists in particular with its own target group-specific offers.

With the "Young Investigator Award - Health Care Research" , the CHCR & PH honours young researchers in the field of health care research and public health research.
