Center for Health Care Research and Public Health
The CHCR & PH (Center for Health Care Research and Public Health) was founded in 2006 as an institution of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and the University of Hamburg (UHH). The CHCR & PH brings together over 200 researchers from 27 institutes and clinics. The aim of the CHCR & PH is to support health care and public health research and to bundle the competences within the organisations. The integration of Public Health and approriate renaming in 2022 enables research projects to be carried out in both scientific disciplines.
As a university institution, one of the tasks of CHCR & PH is to transfer the results of research into practice. One focus is on the Hamburg metropolitan region. The Hamburg Network for Health Services Research emerged from the CHCR & PH and is to be seen as a lighthouse project in the region.
The tasks of the CHCR & PH are
- Initiation and coordination of research projects and collaborative proposals
- Promotion of young researchers
- Implementation of interdisciplinary teaching
- networking and cooperation in the community of national and international health services research, plus
- Promotion of cooperation between science and practice
The CHCR & PH is managed by the spokesperson team and the board. The office is run by the coordinator.
